Bethany Putnam
Bethany Anne Putnam has carried a camera her entire life. Always the one to capture childhood slumber parties and summer camp sessions, she spent a lot of time waiting for film to be developed at the local CVS drug store. She is happiest when driving a back country road with a cold Dr Pepper and a box of salty CheezIts. Having the time to pull over, again and again, and take a photo of whatever has caught her attention makes for a pretty good day. She started taking photography more seriously upon moving to Santa Fe, NM and was fortunate to attend a beginner's session at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. Whether exploring the Enchanted Circle or wandering the streets of Santa Fe, she honed her skills and proclivity to capturing lines, shadows, pops of juicy color and special moments in time. Moving to Mexico just seemed to amplify her need to document the color and texture of this vibrant country. Mexico is a photographer's dream. Swing-a-cat in any direction and you will find colorful murals, flowering trees, markets overflowing with bold trinkets, festivals with dancers in traditional costumes, stunning sunsets and more natural beauty than you can imagine. Now, as the director of 360 XQMX, she gets to intoduce the residents to local communities and celebrations ... always with a camera in-hand. You can follow her on Instagram @smittenwithmexico.
